Chicago! No other place like it!

Yesterday I had a chance to visit Chicago with a special friend. We drove to the suburbs and then took the train into the city. It was a PERFECT day and we had "oodles" of fun and a UNBELIEVIABLE lunch at the "GRAND LUX" on Michigan Ave. Macy's has bought Marshall Field's and everyone is UPSET. The corner marker still says "Marshall Field". Hope it stays forever. There was something new all over town, CHOCOLATE LOUNGES! ONLY in Chicago.

SEEING DOUBLE

Last night we happened to look outside and see a DOUBLE rainbow. You will have to look really close but you can see it.

JUST ME AND MY BROOKLYNN!

It was WONDERFUL to have a little time this week-end with our Brooklynn in Indiana. She is growing up so FAST. She is such a JOY to our family. And YES, she does look like her Daddy. (We hear that all the time.)

Meeting Great-Gramma Hyatt

Brooklynn got to come to Indiana to meet her Great-Grandparents. It was a JOY to see their meeting for the first time. Here she is with Great-Grandma Hyatt at her assisted living apartment. Brooklynn enjoyed all the new faces. She especially enjoyed the farm animals at Great-Grandpa Cutter's farm. Keep checking Rich's blog for those.

"Don't cry Mimi!"

Today Anna Kate and Lauren headed back to South Carolina to see DADDY. Before we got to the airport Anna Kate said, "Don't cry Mimi!" I told her, "I have to cry I'm going to miss you." Thankful for the time we shared.

One stop at McDonald's

After the parade we had to stop for a snack and fun in the indoor playground at McDonald's. The girls loved it. Lauren thought she was as big as the rest of the kids there.

Off to the PARADE!

Today we started our day with a BIG parade downtown Bloomington. It was the girls very first parade and they seemed to really enjoy it. (especially catching all the candy that was thrown out. We came home with 2 LARGE bags full.

Lauren "The Climber"

This morning I caught Lauren at the top of the stairs. I am teaching her to "SIT ON YOUR BOTTOM LAUREN" and come down on her own. She is learning and doing pretty good, if I keep reminding her. She thinks she is BIG stuff.

Sunday night concert in the Park!

After church we went to Miller Park. The Illinois Symphony Orchestra was having a Labor Day concert. It was a lovely evening and there was a HUGE crowd. Anna Kate had not had a nap. We ended up leaving at half time intermission.

NOW THIS IS FUN!

Friday FUN!

Another WONDERFUL day with GRANDbabies... The park was so much fun. And when Papa got home we headed for dinner at a Mexican resturant. Anna Kate LOVES chips and cheese. When we were finished with dinner we headed to the mall for a carousel ride. We're tired and ready for bed.........

The WORM story!

Tonight Anna Kate and Papa found an earthworm on the sidewalk. At first Anna Kate was afraid to touch it. It wasn't long until she had claimed it as her pet and named it Edy. She made Papa get a bowl and some dirt and played with Edy forever. Even talked about taking him home on the plane. Papa and she took another short wagon ride and found Edy's sister Ady..... Now there are TWO. Mimi insisted that they stay in the garage last night, but Anna Kate did check on them before she went to bed. Pray they are still alive this morning....
